Institute & Scholarship
Purpose and Background:
- Since 2019, a considerable number of Hongkongers relocated to different parts of the world holding an earnest wish for the sustenance of Hong Kong’s cultural identity and inheritance.
Support for Awardees:
- A maximum of four awardees will be selected by the “Banyan Tree Scholarship Selection Committee”. Each awardee will receive a £2,500 scholarship (the amount may increase with additional funding), which will be awarded in two instalments.
- To support the awardees’ promotion of cultural and democratic development, the Fund will provide them with the Mentorship Program and Networking Assistance with the view to establishing an international network with global citizens embracing similar aspirations.
Eligibility
First-year or second-year students studying a full-time bachelor’s degree in the UK in 2022-23; and
Hold visions and plans to develop politico-economic strength (such as personal views in scientific, educational, political-economy, or cultural developments; and embracing democratic values); and
Current second-year students are required to submit proof of university results with a GPA of 3.0 or above (on a 4.0 GPA Scale) or Upper Second-Class Honours or above (UK) in 2021-22.
